Purpose

Welcome to the privacy policy for rising-ape.com. We wrote it to let you know when we collect personal information and what we do with it. We’ll only use your personal information as set out in this policy.

We may need to update this policy from time to time. If we do this, we’ll update the changes at the bottom of the policy.

The information we collect

You may disclose personal information to us when you use the contact form or email us to get in touch or when you post comments or other material to the site. This information is your name and your email address. If you disclose other information about yourself when you get in touch, (for example, details of where you work included in your signature) obviously we have collected this too.

People who will be able to see it

The members of Rising Ape Collective will be able to see the information you provide. Anyone else who may help us on projects over time may also be able to see it but they won’t be able to share it or use it for their own purposes.

If the personal information you provide forms part of material that you have submitted to be published, members of the public may also see it.

Note: All communication with this site is hosted on WordPress.com and transmitted over a secure and encrypted channel. If you do not see a padlock in your browser address bar, please don’t use the site.

Who holds the information

We will hold the information. The Rising Ape Collective website is hosted by WordPress.com and we use Gmail to reply to you, so those services will also hold the information, on my behalf.

How we’ll use the information

We’ll only use your personal information to communicate with you, publish comments and other material you ask to be published and for any other purpose made clear to you at the point of collection. If you subscribe to updates from the site you will receive an email each time a new post is published. You’ll be able to unsubscribe from this email list at any time, just ask or use the unsubscribe link in every email.

We won’t disclose your personal information to third parties unless we need to do so to defend our legal position or the law requires me to do so.

How long the information will be held

We’ll hold the information for as long as we’re providing rising-ape.com or any related site. When we no longer need it for such purposes, we’ll delete it. Again, you can unsubscribe from the email site updates and we’ll delete your personal information if you’d like us to. Just ask.

Other information and cookies

We may collect statistical information about visits to the site to help us understand its usage (this information is anonymous). rising-ape.com and related tools may use cookies for this and other purposes. The cookies that WordPress generates for commenters are described in the WordPress codex and Google explains the cookies that Google Analytics sets on the Google Developers site. You can usually remove or block cookies by using settings in your browser.

You’ll understand that we may need to ask for proof of your identity before providing you with any personal information.
